Map Man Denny Guides us on Lake Taurau
Jan 5 2008 Saint-Michel-des-Saints

Denny and Franky decide which route is safest. We ride up past the
big Auberge du Lac Taurau, and around the lake. The trail is very
good.

When we reached the part of the trail where the dogsled races were
being held, Denny introduced me to one of the club volounteers who
directed traffic around the dogs.

Denny's daughter grew up on a snowmobile, and loves the outdoors.
Denny has three daughters in all, this is Christine.

Frank is pumped to be able to take one day off work. The pressure
in the dealership is high, and riding is a great outlet for stress.

Franky is well known in Newfoundland amongst the riders, and is planning
a trip with Zen to go see the Bys!

More talk on the lake during a break.

Then the dogs race past. This was a 25 mile heat with an unlimited
amount of dogs. Some had 12, some had 16! The roll about 23 miles
per hour.

Franky's sled is up for auction soon - be sure to get in on the action!

Danielle points out the correct way to ride on this long sled.
"The third person holds on like this" she says.
My sled will be ready tomorrow I think, then I can get back out there
and enjoy the Quebec riding. zw
