For several years, I keep hearing about this place called 100 lakes - I hear about bear hunting, fishing the big ones, and I hear about pristine trails that are groomed by the local boys. I finally met the owners of this Quebec snowmobile outfitters at the Syracuse show this winter. JP and his wife Kathie came over to visit with me at the Arctic Cat booth where I was helping out with the NESCO booth.

We immediately hit it off, and I was excited to make new friends. JP is a lawyer of all things.. talk about mixing two different jobs together! He is about 30 years old, and is full of positive vibes. His lady is a knock out - she literally took my breath away! HAHAH! What a looker! Anyways, I am happy to announce that these two are now full sponsors of ZW.com, and that I will be visiting them very early in the season, to take photos, test the food and the trails personally. JP told me I should take the time to 'relax' and he is right. I have been pushing damn hard at work, and need to cool my jets. This looks like the spot.

 

I might even try out the dog sled thing! I have often wondered what this would be like. Of course, the physical effort may finish me off, but what a way to go. More on this later!

Moose Hunting

Moose hunting (North American Elk) is the best in Quebec. This animal is difficult to hunt and the help of an experienced guide is really important to get the king of the Canadian forest. Ask any hunter whose Moose call was answered, what excitement he felt! That's called Buck fever!

The hunting season starts in the first week of September and is only two weeks long.

From Montreal,

Take 15 North. Then, take 117 North. 10 km after Lac Saguay, make a right turn on 311 North, 16 km after, make a left turn at Lac St-Paul and Mont St-Michel. Once you are at Mont St-Michel, make a right turn. 3 km after, make a right turn again on the small road. At km 85, continue straight ahead (South side) or turn on your left (North side)
