This is the Domaine du Lac Toro. Christian is your host, he is a very
funny guy, who gets even funnier after a few beers! He is a fabulous
chef, and a great tour guide. You get it all when you stay here. His
place is worth taking a look at, that's why I am talking about it.
It's a lot of fun.

You can also ask Christian for snowmobile trail
conditions and weather, he's very honest
and won't bs you! That's another thing I like about this dude!

Here is a few of his kitchen staff, the food
here is really outstanding, but don't ask for a hot dog! I ate some
pasta for lunch with a shell pastry and a white wine sauce that was
out of this world.
I know you would have a gas
staying here.... period. Christian has everything you need, and can
even rent you one of his own sleds for a few days if you need it.
He mainly entertains European tour groups, but lately, Americans have
started to discover him, and may well take over all his rooms one
day!

This is Laurent the bar man. He has worked for Christian
for over five years, and is the right guy for the job!
The place is really top drawer,
friendly and hospitable,
and furthermore, your wife would love it too, which is a plus!
They have all the services, including high end French cuisine
at reasonable prices, and the rooms are about 80 a night for
two.. very reasonable... call Christian for details.

Here is some deer that I spotted just off the trail at Domaine du
Lac Toro last week..
So beautiful., and the snow is so deep off trail, up to my waist!

At the Domaine du Lac Toro, everyone was having a blast on the Go-Carts!

The Amazing Snowmobile Trails of St-Zenon
in March!
The trails over the last week
have been amazing with lots of new snow, and the club has worked hard
to keep them smooth. Some bits have bumpy stretches, but not big bumps.
I would say in an average day of 150 miles, you might get five miles
of sporadic bumps, but by this weekend, things should get smoothed
out. Bumps are caused by heavy traffic and lots of snow (like Tug
Hill), but here it ain't the same! I should be saying lumpy and not
bumpy. In any event, by the weekend, you probably won't see either
of them! It will be lows of - 25 all week and highs of - 15. Perfect
for hardening this trail up.

This is Bruno the Wild Man, he rents you the
sled you need at Location Haute Matawinie. This is the guy that lends
me a sled anytime I need to go out to get photos! Great guy! Knows
his stuff... he's been doing it for 15 years! Nice hair gel too! Bruno
has about a million snowmobiles for rent at any given time, but still,
you had better call him in advance to book what you need to get the
choice you want.

This is the one I have been getting of late,
an 800 REV GSK and I LOVE IT!! It has lots of power and also, it has
the best suspension I have ever experienced, in terms of soaking up
the bumps.. It is simply amazing. When you have a bad back like me,
this is what you need. (Should I tell you that I did 160 on Lake des
Villier the other day with this thing? Nope I shouldn't! But I would
never try that on Lake Taurau, because it is a reservoir and has too
many hidden surprises!)

This is DAN, he also works renting out sleds, but mainly, he is the
driver, as you already know. When you purchase a used 05 sled from
these guys with 1500 kilometers, he is the guy that delivers it to
your door.. (Yes in the USA too!). When you rent or buy a sled from
these characters, they look after you. Also, if you need service,
they do the job right. I have had three letters filled with compliments
of their service this winter. The only complaint I heard was from
a retired officer from NY.. who needed some diagnostic adjustment
of some kind in early January, and they couldn't do it yet, because
they had just become a Bombardier dealer three weeks before. But they
did everything they could do for the guy.. I told him to stop his
crying, or go back to NY! It was one of those things that happen when
you just take over a dealership. The guy told me that it was the first
time in all the many years that he had a problem with the dealership,
and I told him that in that case, he should stop whining. He laughed.
He also admitted that he had been reading my web site for years, but
had never donated a cent. I laughed and told him he was a cheap bastard.
He stopped laughing, but all his buddies laughed. It was funny! Then
I asked him to pay for my steak. Then he left! (just kidding!).

This is one of the latest crews from France,
to come and enjoy a real Canadian winter.. that's Johnny in the middle
with the cool helmet!

One of Christian's nieghbours, is Motel Montagnard
Mike, and his beautiful wife. Here, they are posing for me on my sled
(my borrowed sled!) . Mike says HELLO to everyone, and "Wish
you were here!" Remember, March is the best month of the
year for riding up here... still remains very cold at night, and sunny
all day, and the grooming continues till the end!

Took this near Lake Taurau last week. Nothing
has changed since then,
except another 6 inches of snow, and more grooming!

This is on top of Trinity Mountain behind the Motel Montagnard. If
you are not up here this coming weekend, or better yet through the
week when there is no traffic, something is wrong in your head, and
you should just sell off your sled. You can't possibly be sane.

After lunch, Christian invited me to go along
for a special tour of Lake Taurau, and it was fantastic! I learned
alot about this reservoir, and got about 100 miles in before dinner.
Look at the lake! Can you believe it? Like I said earlier, if you
are not riding in St-Michel-des-Saints this weekend, you're nuts!
See you soon I hope!
