Rocky Falls in Love

Rocky Falls in Love by zw

It seems like only yesterday Rocky was in his little bassinet with his siblings, making little squeaking noises and pushing for a better nipple under his mothers belly. Today at six years old, he has a girl friend of his own!

No, it is not the lovely Dominique that you see here above, his new love is a golden retriever named ginger! Ginger and Rocky...has a ring to it eh?

It all started three days ago, when I was in the shower. You see, I let Rocky out every morning, to wander around the house, while I take my shower. In the six years since he was a puppy, he has NEVER run away. Three days ago he disappeared.

I opened the back door and called him, and nothing. I got dressed quickly and ran outside. Though I hated to do it, I ran down to the road to check.... but thank God he was not road kill.

Next, I ran out into the hay field next to my house and started calling. He showed up five minutes later.

This occurred two days in a row, then yesterday afternoon, while I met with a friend in the house, he disappeared, but I did not notice. The phone rang. It was my neighbour across the 131 highway. They had Rocky over there. Christian, the snowmobile groomer from the Glaciere club, drove Rocky back home.

We chatted a little and I learned that Christian's daughter Dominique, has move home from Calgary Alberta in western Canada. She has a golden in heat. Aha! That is the reason for his philandering!

This morning while I was helping the chimney sweep Mario to clean out the soot, Rocky sneaked away again. The phone rang. This time it was Dominique herself. She told me Rocky was in the yard again, and that she fears we are going to have puppies. Golden slash Sheltie puppies! This could be very scarey!

Anyway, come to find out that Dominique is a dog groomer, and she wants to trim Rocky. I said yes, as it has been a long time for him, and he needs those glands emptied under his tail! 'Too much information', I said, just give him the whole treatment!

Well, I went to pick him up, and is he cute?? Oh yeah! What a star!

So, I told Dominique that I wanted to tell people here, that we now have a dog groomer in St-Zenon, so here she is! Meet the lovely Dominique. See the photos of the family here on the right!

Have a good day. Rocky certainly did!
