Back Riding in
St-Jean-de-Matha Quebec
August
27th 2002; Al Verkest and sweetheart Tina go horseback riding in St-Jean-de-Matha
Quebec, about 45 minutes south of St-Zenon. Would you believe only 12 bucks Canadian
per hour each?? They went for two hours. I am still too sore from riding the quads
the day before!
Al
and Tina are both experienced riders. Al owned a horse several years ago befor
opting for sleds and quads, and Tina grew up on a horse ranch in Texas! You can
see by this photo that Al is made to be with the beasts!
Tina
explains how the braids are used to decorate the horse... something like that,
I wasn't listening! I was busy taking the photos.
Lison
was feeding hay to the horses, working hard while we were busy petting them. This
little fella was one of the many foals we saw in the barn.. Beautiful little things!
Al
was getting plenty of "attention" from Tina, and Zen got none! :( You
can tell that Al got major points for taking Tina horsebackriding! Guys, take
note!
Tina
was complaining about the presence of barbed wired, but she still looked great
in her Zenwaiter t-shirt! Luck for her, she was high stylin'! Al was wearing the
matching ZW ball cap!
The
"Centre Equestre de la Matawinie has several brrod mares and they produce
beautiful foals.
We
all admire the brood mares and their new foals, but they stay far away.
We
head for the horses that await, all saddled up at the horse barn.
Natalie
Roy, the owner of the business (R) shows Tina her horse. That blue screen is for
bugs.
Lison
gets Natalie's horse saddled, a 43 year old Appaloosa! Below we see the true art
of horsemanship demonstrated...Al gets on the horse! What style! What grace! :)
True
love! You can see that this girl was made to be with horses!
In
a few short minutes, they're off!
