Sept 28 2007/ HOLIDAYS for me have always been about flip-flops,
factor 15 and lazing around on a sun lounger for a fortnight, so I
wondered whether spending a week wrapped up against the threat of
frostbite would be my cup of tea. But after a breathtaking experience
in picturesque Quebec on the east coast of Canada, I have put
away the suntan lotion and am already planning my return trip. From
the exhilaration of snowmobiling through woodland and learning
how to drive your own team of huskies, to the tranquil and magical
time spent ice skating on a frozen river in the middle of nowhere,
the week I spent in the charming French-speaking villages and

Drag Races comming THIS Weekend
Sept 29, 2007 ;ONSTED Michigan:The 25th annual Michigan
Cup Snowmobile drag races are on for next Saturday and Sunday.
The 25th annual Michigan Cup Snowmobile drag races will be
Oct. 6-7 at the Slee Road Sports Complex, 8635 Slee Road, Onsted.
Registration is from 8 to 11:30 a.m. both days. Test runs will begin
around 10 a.m., with racing at noon each day. ATV races will
be held at 12:30 p.m. both days, with an entry fee of $20 per rider.
Practices will be Oct. 5 at a cost of $20 per rider. No special tires
are needed. Rick Richardson from the Onsted Kiwanis Club said prize
money is being finalized. The Kiwanis Club, Cambridge Township Fire
Department and the Onsted Athletic Boosters are sponsoring the International
Snowmobile Racing sanctioned grass drags. Get

Take a Shine to Snowmobiles: The latest in winter vehicles
The Go Snowmobiling Show, is at the Toronto Congress Centre,
650 Dixon Rd. Make tracks to the Go Snowmobiling Show this weekend.
Paul Shaughnessy, executive director of the Ontario Federation of
Snowmobiling Clubs, said the sport has taken off as an adventure for
the whole family."In Ontario we have 41,000 kilometres of snowmobiling
trails which are more than provincial highways," said Shaughnessy.
"We stretch from the Manitoba to Quebec border with an interconnected
trail system."As the leaves start to fall this is the peak season
to come out and look at the latest machines and accessories or join
one of the many riding clubs, he said. "They are seeing the season
starting to change and anticipating the winter coming," said

Arctic Cat Closing

at Arctic Cat announced on Wednesday afternoon that the company will
close its Madison plant in February, laying off nearly 90 company
employees. Ron Ray, Arctic Cat's vice president of operations, made
the announcement to all of the company's Madison employees at 2:30
p.m. when the entire staff was gathered at the plant, according to
Dwaine Chapel, executive director at the Lake Area Improvement Corporation.

Sept 27 2007; THE FLINT JOURNAL- MT. MORRIS TWP. - Production models
of the 2008 Spyder are starting to spin their way to dealerships,
including Nord-Ride Motorsports at I-75 and Mt. Morris Road. The first
of the unique, three-wheeled, Rotax-powered road-going machines rolled
off the production line in Valcourt, Quebec, earlier this month, Bombardier
Recreational Products Inc. said. With two wheels in front and one
in the rear, the Spyder is like a road-going snowmobile. The 990cc
V-twin engine provides gobs of torque, and the Spyder's high-tech
powertrain, chassis stability and braking computers keep all three
