This Weekend Grass Drags in Douglas Minnesota!
Sept
20, 2007: DOUGLAS MN: By Donny Henn; Post-Bulletin, Rochester MN
; Grass drag event features snowmobile racing in September. A big
snowstorm at the end of last winter salvaged some of the snowmobiling
season for riders in southeastern Minnesota. But was it enough to
whet the appetites of snowmobilers for the coming season, or did
enthusiasm for the sport melt away with all those snow-free months?
"Last year the weather ended on a high note with that snowstorm,"
said Jim Miesbauer of the Byron Snow Bears snowmobile club. "Hopefully,
that was enough to get people excited again about this winter."
Miesbauer and his club are banking on that being the case. The Byron
Snow Bears will get a gauge on local interest in snowmobiling when
the club presents the 13th annual Great Southern Grass Drag Nationals
this weekend near Douglas. Get the rest of this snowmobile events

Plenty of trails, lots of snowmobilers,
just need snow
September 17, 2007 ALBANY,
N.Y. (AP) - It's way too early for most New Yorkers to utter the
"S" word -- snow. For the tens of thousands who are members
of snowmobile clubs, it's never too early to start thinking about
winter. There are some 11,000 miles of trails in New York state
and almost 60,000 snowmobile club members. But the joker in their
deck is the snow, which failed to fall last year until after the
holidays. Jim Jennings is executive director of the New York State
Snowmobile Association. He says his group likes to see it start
snowing by Christmas. Last winter, the first big snowfalls didn't
arrive in most of upstate New York until well after New Year's Day,
although some areas had snow into April. The late snow was cited
as one reason for the drop in statewide snowmobile registrations.
There were nearly 150,000 snowmobiles registered in New York state
two years ago. But last season that number dipped to 130,000.

Faulty Polaris
Fuel Pumps Replacement Kits
Alert from www.snowtechmagazine.com
Polaris has determined the fuel pump sender units on all
2005 & 2006 big block 755 & 866 (700 & 900 Cleanfire
models) can deteriorate. The deterioration can allow small particles
to contaminate the fuel system, including the fuel filter and injectors.
This could cause reduced performance, and/or engine damage. Polaris
has developed kits to remedy this situation. All models get a new
fuel pump sender unit, and some models get a new fuel filter as
well. Owners of these snowmobile machines should have the
appropriate kit installed to prevent fuel system contamination.
