I started my day wit a hearty breakfast at the Refuge B&B, where
I met
about a dozen snowmobilers from all over. The snow was
heavy, what a blessing!
It snowed all morning, and then all night again!
We got 4 inches all together.
With our excellent base this year, we are
in business. (Thank you Lord!)

Everyone seems to have a nice sled up here in
St-Zenon!

At lunch I went into the Pub 111 and met these three Quebecers,
They were
drying out clothes, and enjoying a cold one. On the left
is "Mr. HopAlong
Wet Foot" Richard. Centre is Rouken Richard,
and on the right is
Steve So-6. So-6 means wiener in English. Gee,
I wonder where that nick name
comes from?!

This is his sled, covered in ice. See the crumpled shock? Ouch.
This he says
will cost him 300. cnd for parts. But the sled still runs.

I am led back to the scene of the crime, where we see Yogi, owner
of the
Pub 111, shoveling snow into the water hole. At the actual hole
the water
is only 4 inches deep, but where Wet Foot went through,
Off the trail to our
right, it was two feet deep.

Since all three speak French, they discussed the incident at length, the
victim
trying desperately to save his honor, but there was no way!
Yogi (r),
filled the hole with snow, and today it is frozen over solid.
This is Yogi's
personal trail leading to his Pub. Normally this never
happens, but this
year we have very high water in our waterways.
Watch for about two water
holes per day of riding. Slow down and
keep your head up.
I have
a movie MPEG of this incident on
Zen's
MPEGS page
(it will be on by noon Dec 3 2003)
PS:
It snowed again last night and the forecast is good...
