Son of Zen
and Son of Zen II
RIDE QUAD
Thanks to Haute Matawinie Rentals

Austin and Garret arrive in Montreal and we celebrate with
Grandmama over some St-Hubert B-B-Q Chicken.

In the Haute Matawinie Sled and Quad Rental Store,
the boys meet owner Michael and his lovely daughter.
Michael explains the rules, and points out many safety tips
for them to follow. It is their first time on a quad.

Zen and the rental manager check out the condition of all
three bikes. Everything is A1!

The boys stop on the first bridge leaving St-Michel to review
hand signals with Dad, who, they say, is worse with the
camera than a Japanese tourist!

Son of Zen takes in the view at the top of Mount Trinity.

Then Dad gets a shot of him blasting through a flooded trail in a
downpour of spring rain. The trails are a blast!

The camera lens is all wet, but not their enthusiasm.

Feeling like old pros after just an hour or two,
the boys stop to examine a beaver dam.

We saw the beaver swimming around, but then he hid in his
underwater lodge until we left. His dam (on the left) was
creating quite a lake.

Arriving at the Refuge in St-Zenon, Crazy Al took Zen's machine, and the boys followed
him back to St-Michel. Zen was not feeling well, so Al took over. I told the boys to hang
on for dear life. "Do not try to keep up with Al" I said.

Al promised to take it easy, seeing as the boys were
on their first ever ride. In spite of his care in guiding,
Garret's 700 flipped over in a corner when his front
rim hit a rock. It was very wet and everything
was slippery. Fortunately, he wasn't hurt.

Garret felt really bad, but afterwards we
figured out, that it was probably due to his
cold hands. They were numb, and when he
hit the rock, he couldn't respond
quickly enough. Michael quickly made him
feel better by explaining that about one in ten
have a minor mishap on their first outing.

Zenwaiter wishes to thank everyone at Haute
Matawinie Rentals, for providing us with everything
we needed to have a great day in the outdoors!

The boys will never forget this day, and neither will
Zenwaiter. Thanks Michel.

This is the newest Polaris kiddie model. It is available
now in St-Michel-des-Saints, from Haute Matawinie.
