St-Michel des Saints & St-Zenon
Celebrates the St-Jean
June 24th 2003

Jessie, owner Marc Dorval, and his wife Guylaine work on the holiday.

Yesterday morning...

I went to see Mark Dorval, to pick up my old Lincoln... the source of my continuos financial ruin. To my delight, he fixed it for a mere $27.00 cnd this time! My voltage regulator, which had been replaced last week, was defective, so he only charged me half the labour to stick in a new one. The part was a free replacement.

Thank you Marc!

This year, the area of St-Michel and St-Zenon, has been filling up a little more than usual this year with tourists from the cities in the south, due to nice hot temperatures. This is a good thing for us.

Many business people like the Dorval, work straight through till two AM, just to serve the tourists needs. In this Esso Station, boat trailers need fixing, tires need replacing, and radiators need to be replaced in this heat. The Dorval's and their crew work till everything is done, and then take time off later when they can.

But not everyone was working in our towns.

I drove up to the beach to get some photos of, ahhh, er... summer stuff. I think what I need is a telephoto lens. Anyone want to donate one to the summer zenmiester?

As usual, I miss all the good shots...so sue me!

The water level in the Lake Taureau Reservoir, is still a few feet low, but that doesn't stop us from having a good time!

These guys have a new gizmo they pull around behind the Seadoo!

These two are having a blast.

Rolland was playing hard to get!

I told this couple they would be famous!

Then I ran across Michel Marineau, our man in Amsterdam. He looked like Lord of the beach! You remember this guy right? He shoots local photos for us in the winter.

Some of these kids were staying at the municipal campground across the road... a super place to spend a few weeks.

These guys showed up for a quick dip on their quads.

On my way home from the beach, I stopped in to visit
Marcel Plante, who was busy decorating his Bed and Breakfast,
Le Vent Vert, with Quebec flags!

The front porch is a great place to relax and have a cool one.

Even the cat is celebrating!

VIVRE LE QUEBEC...

Hope to see you all soon.
