To Quebec City & Back with Al V from Ontario NY
MAR 26, 2003

We got into Quebec City and drove up the first hill, got lucky, found the
Quebec Legislature.

We drove through the Gate to the old city, and found the old town.

We parked, and Al V behaved like a common
dog behind a tree. Guess he couldn't hold it any
more after the long drive. From the hill, we look
across the St-Lawrence and see the ferries and
the lingering ice flows. Also notice the murals on
the building below.

The old fortress has a few dozen of these mortars which defended the
port of Quebec in the 15th Century.

Al heads up hill. We look for a restaurant.

The famous Frontenac Hotel .

The streets are slowly starting to attract touists
for another busy season.

Inside the Pub, we et some good food and a hot coffee. Al looks grumpy;
It's his age. :) The woodwork is wonderful..

After a nice lunch, Al picks up some gifts for his ladies. The saleslady said
something about it being illegal for me to use her image. Luckily for me,
she
is out of focus. I don't think she'll be able to sue.

The back streets behind the stores feature old apartments.

The architechture here is wonderful.

Another street with the river in the back drop.

More cool buildings.

We cut through the University of Laval at Quebec's complex and court yard.

Back to the view on the hill's edge.

Back in the car and heading for St-Zenon, Al falls asleep.

Hungry again, we stop to see Nicole at the Bistro St-Zenon. Oh yeah!

Nicole poses with Al V and Crazy Al, even though it goes against
her better judgement.

More friends drop in.

Saturday morning, Al says goodbye to Rocky and I,
and hits the road. Thanks Al!
See you in the summer at Crazy Al's place with
your four wheeler.
