Meet the Triskle Family of Kenora
Ontario!
Zen in Kenora Nov 17 - 18 - 19 2007 meets Floyd
and Paulie

They log together, they fish together, run the trap line together,
and raised a great family.
On the Road... Again!
I drove all day from Portage La Prairie Manitoba,
past Winnipeg and to Kenora Ontario. My first pit stop was when I
spyed a new Polaris dealership at Headingly. I stopped for five minutes
and met Tim out front, attatching liscence plates to two new sleds.

This is Tim, a long time employee and faithful service man at the
Headingly Sport Shop Polaris dealer. Listen to his story and
his ideas about the weather this winter.... click here...
A few minutes later, I drove right into the traffic of Winnipeg; no
ring road short cut for this guy, I wanted to smell the downtown core
of this great Canadian city!

Then it was high ball for Kenora, past the Ontario border.
I was gona drive straight through, but I stopped for gas and started
talking with a trapper, Floyd Triskle and his wife Paulie. They invited
me to follow them to a pot luck supper that was a fund raiser put
on by the local Trapper's Association. They were raising cash for
the Salvation Army. I tagged along, mainly for the promise of good
home cooking. I was hungry.

The meal was amazing. I donated twenty bucks and won some door prizes.
The people I met were very interesting.

Here is Paulie on the left with two pals.

This guy won the draw for this hat. I wanted to win the hat. Oh well.

Then Floyd and Paulie invited me to come home with them. "I
bring home wierdos all the time" said Floyd, "and
the family doesnen't seem to mind!"
I later discovered that this life long trapper, sleeps with his
iron right in the bed. He wasn't worried. He could probably shoot
me and skin me in under five minutes, then feed me to the fish. He's
the real thing.

This couple has worked together for over thirty years to build an
incredible family. The house they created was warm and inviting. I
slept like a baby. I ate like a king!

This is their son Frank Triskle. He is certified with all the major
powersports mechanic programs, and is the man to see in Kenora if
you have sled problems. Better Way Repairs offers an
emergency pick up service to all snowmobilers in the Kenora area,
and his specialty is rebuilding motors.

This summer he built an 'Air Boat' with his dad.

They used a car engine that produces 100 hp and can push the baot
at about 38 mph on water- much faster on ice! They are gonna test
her this weekend.

Floyd's daughter Sandy, works at Wharf Power Sports in Kenora, a Ski
Doo dealership.

She was kind enough to offer me an internet connection to get this
page up. Check out the huge belly on me. The food here is too good.
(Call me Fatso!)

Some sleds out back.

This is Richard the assistant manager, with the deer he shot in the
back shop.
That's it for now, stay tuned for more adventures
from me! I should be in Quebec soon. It snowed three inches up here
last night, but then melted right away.
